At this time of the year, we
can only look forward to what might be. We will be playing a number
of pre season friendly matches before the League season begins.

During the season you will find our most recent matches reported
here together with details of outstanding individual performances
and our expectations for the coming weeks.
We have now received the fixtures from the Oxford Times Cherwell
League and the IC3 Home Counties Premier League for the 2007
Season. It looks as if we are going to have a very interesting
and challenging start at all levels.
The 1st XI playing in the IC3 Home Counties Premier League
begin with an away fixture against Finchhampstead on 12th May.
Two home games against Slough and High Wycombe complete the
fixtures in the season's opening month.
Our 2nd XI, playing in Oxford Times Cherwell League Division
2 play hosts to local rivals Horspath on the opening day of
the season before two successive trips to Tiddington CC 1st
XI and Leighton Buzzard Town 1st XI.
Fresh from promotion to Oxford Times Cherwell League Division
5, our 3rd XI start their 2007 campaign at the very ground that
they clinched promotion last season as they visit Bourton Vale.
Having never succumbed to the Cotswold side in 2006, they will
be hoping to get the season off to a victorious start. The team
then invite Banbury XX Club 2nd XI to the Rover ground before
visiting Thame Town 2nd XI on 26th May.
Our 4th XI, playing in Oxford Times Cherwell League Division
9, start away at Hanborough 2nds (9th last year), followed by
Stanton St John Willows 2nds (15th last year). On paper these
do not look too difficult but it is ALWAYS difficult for 4th
XIs against 2nd XIs. The following 4 weeks look reasonable,
away to Tiddington 3rds, away to Banbury 4ths, home to Abingdon
Vale 3rds and away to Aston Rowant 3rds, none of whom finished
higher than 12th last year.
Our 5th XI start their inaugural season on the road as they
visit Oxford & Bletchingdon 4th XI. Under the guidance of
Guy Fiddian, they then travel to Great and Little Tew before
welcoming Shipton Under Wychwood 3rd XI to Roman way for the
first home game of the year.
