5th XI accepted into Cherwell League

Following on from the success of the 3rds and 4ths gaining promotion, Oxford CC have successfully applied to the Cherwell League for the entry of a 5th XI into Division 9B. It has long since been recognised that the entry level of promising Youth Cricketers has been through the lower Cherwell League sides and the array of young Players in the top three sides is confirmation of the value of the policy. The Committee felt that with the push for promotion in 2006 the 3rds and 4ths did not offer enough opportunities to this age group and have set about to change this.
