The Co-op's Community grant of £305 to buy helmets and thigh pads was crucial in allowing the Oxford Cricket Club Girls U15 team to have a successful season, completing all of our Oxfordshire Girls Cricket League fixtures and reaching the second round of the ECB Vitality Girls U15 T20 National Cup.
Fifteen different girls played for the team, and nearly all of them were new to playing at the U15 level. The safety equipment provided by Co-op allowed all the players to feel confident when batting. All players are eligible for the U15 team again next season, and we are hoping that they will continue their cricketing journey.
Many thanks to Rosalyn Porter for securing the grant and to the Co-Op for supporting girls cricket in Oxfordshire.
