This season as well as regularly scoring for the Oxford CC Men's 2nd XI, I have travelled to a few other venues and experienced other scoring situations.
In May, I scored the National schools Girls U13 and Girls U15 indoor finals at the indoor school at Lords Cricket Ground. Very fast and furious - exciting cricket! In August, I found myself at Loughborough University scoring for the Women's Super 4s and working alongside an analyst. The analyst records where the ball pitches, the bounce, the speed, the direction of travel, distance travelled and much more - all quite fascinating. It was a great four days - plus I bumped into old friend Marcus Campopiano (coaching one of the teams for the week) - who sends his best wishes to all at Oxford CC.
This season David Hood very kindly took on the challenge of organising scorers for the four men's Saturday teams and this has been much appreciated by the Captains. A league requirement is that the Men's 1s and Men's 2s have scorers otherwise points are deducted. Big thanks to David - and to all those that have scored for the seniors teams this season: Philip, Alec, Julian, Joe, Simon, Millie, Charlie, Johan and anyone else that I've missed.
Are you interested in scoring? The OCB will be holding courses in the winter season please ask for further information or come and sit next to one of our regular scorers and have a go in 2026. Oxford CC needs more scorers. PCS Pro and the Play cricket app have come along way and are easy to use and very cricket friendly.
