Sunday 31 July was a momentous day in the history of female sport in the UK, creating memories that will live on for generations to come and whose impact is certain to ripple out through the ages: it was the third U11 girls' cricket festival of 2022, held at Oxford Sports Park and organised by our very own Rosalyn Porter. (Later in the day, England won the Women's Euros, but that was all a bit after the Lord Mayor's show.)
On a blustery day, against the backdrop of the Mini factory, Oxford CC was represented by a squad of nine, featuring three U9 players. They started with a solid victory against Witney Mills and, despite the setback of a narrow defeat to Henley, they finished the morning with a closely fought victory over Tiddington.
Our huge thanks and congratulations go to Rosalyn for organising such a fine event!
