3. Oxford Cricket Club Youth Cricket Complaints Policy & Procedure

Introduction

Oxford CC’s Youth Cricket Section is designed to help Youth players and parents/carers be aware of their responsibilities to each other and to their Club, and to create a culture and atmosphere where these become second nature.

Following the basic principles of the Club Code of Conduct and Honour Code will enable Oxford CC to prosper and ensure it remains a well-respected, professional, successful and enjoyable Cricket Club to be involved with at all times. The Code of Conduct can be found here and the Honour Code can be found here.

The aim of this complaints policy and procedure is to ensure Youths, Parents and Managers/Coaches alike can enjoy cricket in a culture and atmosphere which is enjoyable and safe.

Stage 1

Speak directly to the team manager/coach as soon as possible. Inform the Director of Youth Cricket, Arthur Muir of the issue and that you have communicated with the relevant team manager.

It is hoped that in most cases the team manager/coach and the parent/carer can resolve any issues/concerns directly between themselves.

Stage 2

If the issue remains unresolved and the parent/carer feels communication with the team manager/coach is exhausted then the matter should be escalated in writing to the Director of Youth Cricket where a formal reply/decision will be made. You can email Arthur here.

If the parent/carer is not satisfied that the complaint has been resolved then they will be required within 7 days of the above correspondence to state the reasons and request an escalation to the next stage.

Stage 3 (Final Stage)

This will involve a meeting with the Parent/Carer, the Director of Youth Cricket and an officer from the Club management committee where the matter will be discussed along with any statements taken. A final decision will be made by the Club within 7 days of this meeting and all parties will be notified in writing of the Club’s decision.
